Antiques & Vintage Trending in 2023

I hear that antiques and vintage will be trending in 2023! How exciting is that?! We at Tattered Tiques’s love to go antiquing, thrifting, road tripping and more for good old vintage.  We haven’t met a flea market we didn’t like.  When we are out picking, we see such amazing things. Some of those make it home with us. Heck, many a roadside treasure have even made it home with us. Over the years, we’ve managed to bring home a good assortment of cool vintage.  Things like ironstone pitchers, globes, old scales, maps, seed boxes, vintage alarm clocks, yard photos, signs and so much more have made their way home with us. Flea markets are the biggest culprit! Over the years, we’ve managed to fill entire cars, trailers and rental trucks from flea marketing. Memorable road trips to places like Springfield Extravaganza in Ohio will never be forgotten, and neither will all the vintage goodness that we found.  Take a peek at these old photos I found.

This is an old shoe rack mom(Nancy) transformed into a shelf. 

How great is this old seed box she has?  These are not that easy to find these days…if you do find one, they are REALLY expensive.  I think she paid under $40 for this one. 

The shoe rack also holds her antique ironstone pitcher collection.

We all have our own version of this collection. Ironstone pitchers are a weakness of ours.

I love the blank and white group photos.  

We used to sell yard photos at the shop, and may still have some in back. 

This was one of Anne's favorite pieces.  It used to be in her chicken coop.  It's an old galvanized nesting box from Iowa.  The old hardware sign above is a great piece too.  She got it for $20 and it's double sided!

A Sea of Vases

There will be a sea of vintage vases at our next opening in March.  Anne and I split up last weekend and each went to an auction.  I had more luck than she did.  Look what I scored!  A whole lot of wonderful vintage cream and turquoise vases.  I think I'm in love!

 

Sprinkled into the mix are a few vases Anne bought yesterday.

This is part of my collection of vases.  It was one of my addictions years ago. I have a ton of vintage mixed in with newer ones.  I also have a bunch of vintage turquoise vases in another cabinet in my living room. The ones I picked up last weekend, however, are all yours.

We will be open tomorrow from 10:00- 1:00 for those of you who need paint, or just want to browse.  Our next opening is March 15,16,17.  A big thank you to all our faithful customers, and to all the new ones we recently met!  We had the biggest month ever this past February, so THANK YOU!  You guys are the greatest!

Worn Goods

We try so hard to have new things in the store every week.  Sometimes there are just a few, sometimes there are a ton.  Today, I fell in love with all our new treasures.  I just love all the worn patina and history these things have.

I love everything about these old pulleys.  They are wonderful!

It would be very hard to pick a favorite, but if I had too, it would be this black one.  It's so great.

This picnic basket is so adorable.  I can just imagine all the places and picnics it's been to.

How cute are these?  They are the best I've seen.  We have sold a lot of vintage cheese boxes over the years, but non have been so perfect and cute as these!

We got this great table in today.  It needs just a little love, and maybe some casters to raise it up a bit.  It's a great size.

These are the best chippy, shabby, antique, aged and worn chairs ever.  They are just perfect! They made their debut at the Na-Da Farm event last week.

We have been stocking up on sleds for winter decorating.  I picked these three up on the "Autumn Drive".

These old time card holders would be great to hold notes, pictures and such in a kitchen or office.
