Na-Da Farm Event

Hey Everyone!  We had a great weekend on the farm, Na-Da Farm that is!  It was a beautiful setting, with gorgeous weather, and the sweetest, nicest people.  We were so pleased to be a part of the event, and to get to meet so many talented women.  Many of these talented ladies are fellow bloggers that we follow, so it was nice to finally meet them.  We hope you made it out this weekend, but in case you didn't, we have lots of pictures to share. The bakery was to die for adorable.  The amazing lady who puts this event on with her family, is Anne Marie.  She did a remarkable job decorating the barn and grounds for the event.  You should check out her Na-Da Farm blog for daily inspiration and to follow her adventures on her midwest farm.

The vendors inside the barn were among Jennifer Rizzo , Polly Hood of Counting Your Blessings,  Christie Carter of Carter's Cottage, Jeanne Oliver of Jeanne Oliver Designs, and Jill Harris of Gypsy Brocante. Some of these ladies even taught art classes at the sale.

We were so honored to be a part of this event.  If you missed this sale, Na-Da Farm will have another sale in the spring.  Hopefully we will be a part of that event as well, and hope to see you there too.

What's new at the shop?

This past week we have been busy getting ready for The Na-Da Farm Event, as well as for this weekend at the shop.  Remember, if you can't make it to Na-Da Farm, the shop will be open this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  I wanted to share some of the new pieces of furniture we will have available in the shop, as well as some other goodies in store.

 
First of all, my favorite piece is the one that was in the worst shape.  It turned out adorable.  We had to play up all the problems and layers of paint it had. 

 
 
How cute is she?  She would be perfect in an entry hall, or even as a bedside table.  We tend to love anything with this kind of oval pull. 

 
An adorable little writing desk.  This piece is so versatile, and a very nice size. 

 
Antique dresser anyone?  This one is so cute.  We pretty much left her how we found her.  We just added a little tatter to bring out some of her story. 

 
 
We have more vintage letter bundles.  These, however, are French! 

 
Antique ballot boxes and perfectly, chippy picket.

 
Burlap ribbon rolls.  These are perfect for fall. 

 
Vintage German Limonade bottles.  They have a little porcelain topper.  

 
This is a very old market basket.  It has skids on the bottem for pulling.  We have never seen one like it.  It would be perfect with warm fall blankets rolled up inside. 

 
 
 
We picked up more Ostrich feathers.  These would be great in fall floral arrangements.

 
So many people have looked at this adorable little Frenchy French table.  We know it is just perfect for someone.  Maybe you?

 
 
Have you seen these yet?  The vintage eye glasses were picked up in Ohio with this project in mind.

We're going to the farm! Na-Da Farm

 

 
We are so, so excited to be a part of The Na-Da Farm Event this year!  It takes place this coming weekend, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7th and 8th.  We hope you can make it out for a visit.  You won't be disappointed.  There will be many other amazingly creative vendors there, all displaying there wares at the farm. There are also going to be very talented artisans giving classes (which you must sign up for). Artists like Jeanne Oliver,Jennifer Rizzo, and Jill Harris.  I can't think of a better place to have a market, or to spend a weekend.  Anne and I dream of having a farm, so this will be a treat!

There was a full page write up in the September/October issue of Midwest Living magazine. So get a babysitter, and grab your girlfriends for a night out on Friday, or for a fun fall destination on Saturday.  You won't want to miss this sale, but, if for some reason you can't make it out to Na-Da Farm, you must stop by the shop.  Tattered Tiques will be open this weekend.  Come see what's new.

Fun Filled Fall

Today Anne and I took the kids with us to go "shop" at our Friend's place.  Afterwards, we took them to lunch and then to a pumpkin patch.  It's amazing how much fun they can have at even the tinest of places.  Kruger's is a small roadside farm stand.  It was filled with tons of different kinds of pumpkins picked from their fields, as well as all the other usual fall goods. We had quite a few people asking last week in the shop where all our pumpkins came from, so I thought I'd share some pics and information about Kruger's.

 
Of course we had to check out the chickens.  They were adorable.

And some silly photo ops for the kids.  Some days this is exactly what my kids act like.  A which, a little devil and even Frankenstein.  Margaret should of been the which, and Lily the little devil.  Although Soran would of been a close second for the devil!  Mac should of been the ghost, because sometimes he's so quiet.   Jack is in the right place as Frank.  Augie would of been the perfect little pumpkin, but he missed out today.

Next we headed out to Dairy Queen for some ice cream, and then off to Harms Farm and Garden Center in McHenry.

 
 This place had just about everything.  Pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, Indian corn, mums, bulbs, apples, carmel apples, and tons of great garden plants to choose from.

      

They also had tons of options for the kids.  A haunted house, a maze, even a train ride around the property, and lots more.

This is what the back of my car looked like at the end of the day.  Notice how my vintage folding chair matches all the goodies.  And check out the awesome chippy wrought iron chairs we picked up today.  They are one of my favorite Tattered Tiques finds, and will be for sale next week.
