It's no secret that I am a hoarder......of magazines and books. I have gobs and gobs of them kept for inspiration. I can't imagine how much money a year I spend on them. The problem is I never really find the time to set aside and do something with all that inspiration.
This is what I'd call "beautiful clutter". They are, in the mean time, not inspiring me, but taking up space. Once I clean my desk off, I hope there is still room for them. They really are eye candy if you ask me. I should mention that......I'm not making any money on Etsy. I stink at creative display, and decorating. I'm certainly not a Junk genius. I'm the least organized person I know, and most days I feel like my husband and I are the only things around here that have "patina". I do however have the Savannah Blues, a Salvage Sister, and terrariums in need of "new" plants. Hopefully once I'm all put back together, I'll have some time to dive into these beautiful books and put all that inspiration to good use!
What inspires you? Do you spend hours digging in books and magazines? Or are you a Pinterest junkie?
I'm off to the shop now. Have a great weekend everybody. We are off this weekend on another picking trip. Fingers crossed.

Vintage Girl
Attention, Attention!! Calling all Vintage Girls! We are super excited this week to finally have all our "Vintage Girl" items together.
If I could broadcast it across the airwaves I would. I am thrilled to finally have.......wait for it.....

T-Shirts!
I have wanted to offer Tattered Tiques t-shirts for a while now.....like years. But my inner voice (Anne) told me no one would buy one. So we played it safe and had Vintage Girl put on the shirts. After all, most of us are either "vintage" or love vintage, right? We also took a while and made sure we picked the perfect shirt to work with. These are very comfy and are very forgiving. If you're like us, forgiving is very important when it comes to fit.
Since we are in love with, and hope to someday have, a vintage truck, we thought it only appropriate to have one as our new logo.
And to make shopping the markets easier, we thought you should have a cute tote on your shoulder. These are a nice canvas and have a very sturdy black strap.
For those of you who haven't been to the shop in the last few months, we even offer Vintage Girl candles.
These candles come in a sweet little muslin bag. Perfect for gift giving! We thought they were so cute when we came across them, and had some special made for us to say "Vintage Girl".
And, we can't forget our favorite Vintage Girl accessory.
The Vintage Girl and Vintage Love necklaces, made by the very talented Beth Quinn. These also make adorable gifts for a favorite friend who loves antiques and vintage.
These come with either an old truck or vintage style trailer.
Well, there you have it. Something to wear to the antique and vintage markets next time you go. A little bling for around your neck, and the perfect little tote to hold your new finds. When you get home after a long day of walking, and hauling junk, you can relax with your Vintage Girl candle. Sounds like the perfect day! Well, maybe a glass of vintage wine would top it off.
I also have our 2014' Tattered Tiques Antique and Vintage market calendars this week. We want to make sure you don't miss any local markets this year!
Please let us know if you have any questions about anything. We do ship if you're not close by. T-shirts are $22 and come in grey, charcoal black, or brown, totes are $14, candles are $12, and necklaces are $44. Have a great weekend. We are open, so stop by!

Versailles
Front and center at the shop this week is an old dresser I recently painted. I used Versailles Chalk Paint ®. It turned out beautiful.
Isn't she a beauty?! I just love her! The addition of dark wax really made her personality shine.
I also gave her a slight tatter along the edges.
We kept the original knobs. I have always liked this style, but nice crystal knobs would look great too.
I sometimes have a hard time getting my sides to "match" when I use the dark wax. But remember, you are your own worst critic! All in all she turned out perfect.

Vintage Bushel Basket Wreath
At a recent flea market, we picked up a bunch of old bushel basket lids. Julie had the brilliant idea of making a Fall wreath out of them....mom had the creativeness to make it happen! This is what she came up with. I love it!!!
I love the old labels on the lids.
If you look at the labels closely, it says these baskets are from 1958 and are from Delavan, Wisconsin. It's always fun to know a little history.
Here's what they started out as. We have a bunch of these fabulous old baskets w/lids for sale at the shop. They are so great for decorating in the fall.
If you're interested in one of these wonderful Fall wreaths, stop by the shop this weekend! We are open Thursday through Saturday 10:00-3:00. We have lots of vintage Fall finds to get you ready for the season!

Savoring Summer
It's been a while since we last posted. Kids, summer and school have had our attention lately.
Although summer is officially over, due to the new school year, the girls and I just can't resist taking advantage of the warm nights. As the girls ran through the sprinkler for probably the last time, I realized I never shared with you my favorite find of the summer.
Although I will miss my beautiful roses, and flowering pots, I can't wait for fall. It's my favorite season! I look forward to mums, pumpkins, and falling leaves. Maybe I'll be lucky and find a great deal for some fall planting as well. Speaking of planting.....the Fall is a great time to plant! Plus, most nurseries have all their stock on sale too.

Before we had left for our Forth of July trip to the cabin, I had seen these boxwood topiary at The Home Depot. I was in love! They were fab. But way to much at $100 each. Still a great price though! After the trip, everything was on sale, and I couldn't believe there were still some left.....at 50% off!!!
I got two of them for $50 each. Now I just need to figure out how to keep them alive through the winter! Any ideas?
These pots were actually hanging baskets that were also on sale for under $8 each. I bought a ton of them and put them all around the patio, in pots, and window boxes. I saved a bundle!
