Subway banners are all the rage right now. They look so great on a wall as an accent, or grouped alongside other art work. We happen to have two different kinds in the shop at this time. The always popular Paris Metro banner, and the very cool Chicago Stops, made by our friend Steve.
Here is a closeup of the Paris Metro banner. It makes a very cute backdrop in the shop.
Here is the full image. It is also available in New York subway stops and London as well.
We also have these cool Chicago banners. They are made from a local artist and a great customer of ours, Steve Milano. He has an authentic Chicago bus stop roll that he makes these banners from. Come see them at the shop, or check out his Etsy shop were he sells his fab vintage camera lights as well. Go to upcycledlighting on Etsy.
Restoration Hardware is featuring Subway banners right now. But at $719 a pop, not for everyone.
I found this Paris one from a very talented artist on Etsy. You can get one here.
And finally, one for the kids. How sweet is this? This artist on Esty offers these beautiful play room renditions in an array of colors. See them at LilyGene.
With so many options to choose from out there, where will you start? Remember, you can always make yourself a personalized one. There are many tutorials on the internet. Maybe when I have the time I'll give it a try. In the meantime, I have the Paris Metro banner, and one of Steve's Chicago bus stops. That's a good start I suppose, but I'm REALLY thinking about adding the play room rules. It's just so perfect and quite adorable!
Have a great day, and remember, we're open again this week!
One day last week I woke up to a devastating blow. My Bloodhound, Clark, had passed during the night. He was in great shape and the night before was totally fine, so it came as a complete suprise to us. He was 9, but was a picture of health. I believe he suffered from bloat(very common in Bloodhounds) that night and went quickly. It is definitey a tough one for our family. He was well loved and liked by all who met him.
He was a gorgeous dog. This photo was taken up at my parents cabin. It should be on a greeting card.
Look at that face! I could get lost in those wrinkles!
This was Clarkie's pack. Our dog Addison(right) passed two years ago...she was also a bloodhound, and was his big sis. She taught him everything he knew. Mayor(center) is a coonhound and is are only dog now. He's having a rough time without Clark. They were inseperable, so I think Mayor will mourn for quite a while.
Bloodhounds are some of the cutest puppies. He had so much extra skin, that it would actually hang over his eyes and he would walk into walls.
We miss you buddy. You were one of the greatest.
We found this beautiful old dresser at an estate sale recently. I was immediately smitten with her sassy curves. She was in beautiful condition, but I didn't think you could see her figure well enough through the dark mahagony.
We decided to go with two colors....actually three. The drawers are ASCP Old White and the body is a mix of Country Grey and Old Ochre.
Work it girl!
She turned out gorgeous! Come see her at the shop, we are open 10-3 today!
Our Bamboo floor mats have arrived. We have three different styles and two sizes to choose from.
There are 2 x 3's for $30. I have this one in front of my kitchen sink, and I love it.
We also have 6 x 10's for $160. My mom has had this size and style under her kitchen table for months, and it looks great. Which mat will you get?
Stop by the shop this week, we are open! Thursday 10-3, Friday 10-3, and Saturday 10-5. See you there!
