Stock & Tulips

I love fresh flowers, and try every week to make sure I have some in a few rooms.  This week I stopped by the florist in town, and came home with Stock, also know as Matthiola.
I also got a beautiful Lily to use elsewhere.
I mixed the Stock with yellow tulips I already had.  The Stock fill the air with the most wonderful fragrance.

Because these are so fragrant and are such a good cut flower, I would love to plant some this year to have for the house and shop. I don't know much about growning them though.  I guess I'll have to do my homework.

Remember, we are open this week!  Come out and see us.  Thursday thru Saturday from 10am-3pm.  We will also be in this Tuesday from 9am - noon.

Vintage Pin Cushions

Being a quilter, one of my favorite gifts I have ever received is one of these vintage pin cushions from my mom.  She made me one years ago....actually, I don't think it was a gift or that she made it for me, I think she made it to sell, and I LOVED it, so I just took it.  She's pretty used to that.  Well, I'm glad I did. I adore it.

Aren't they just adorable???

They are all unique and one of a kind.

I love that someday I will be able to tell my daughter that "grandma" made this and hopefully re-gift it to her.  It's the little things in life...right? It truly is one of my favorite things.

Lucky for you, she is now making them for the shop. She's sold quite a few already so stop by next weekend if you want one!

This week at the shop....

We got a new checkout counter, so our old one is now for sale. It would be perfect in a craft room.

Speaking of craft rooms...these would be perfect to hold odds and ends.

Spring is here...get the galvanized goods out!

This cabinet was made from old barn wood.  The shade of green would be such a great pop of color in any home.

Vintage printers blocks

Love these french wire baskets

Plenty of old printers blocks

Cubbies!

We love the way this buffet turned out.  Come in and see the new technique we tried on it. It turned out beautifully.

Mom's been busy making burlap runners.  These are always big sellers in the Spring and Summer.

This nesting box makes the perfect addition to a potting bench. It holds all your garden stuff...or you  could plant flowers spilling out of it.

I love that this sweet birdseed container comes with a tiny scoop!

We are open this weekend!
April 18th, 19th, and 20th
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

Embroidered Fabric Letters

I'm still working on little Mary Jane's room(even though she's almost 3 months old!).  I found these sweet embroidered letters on one of our customers blog recently.

Bethany over at Crafting My Happy Life made these letters for her daughter's room.  I thought they were so darling, so I decided to try it for Mary Jane's room.

I think they turned out adorable!

I mixed new and vintage fabrics and  then added a blanket stitch around the letters for a little contrast between the fabrics.

Each one is cuter than the next!!

They look so sweet hanging above her crib.  They go along with her vintage chenille quilt I made her.  I will be doing a post about that soon.

If you are interested in some of these letters, we will be selling them at the shop soon.  They would make such a sweet gift!
