French Shopping Cart

Mom's been busy!  She stopped by my house the other day to show me what she was working on. Right away I told her to leave the stuff so I could take some pics and show you guys.

Isn't this so cute?  She made the liner out of burlap, and then stenciled on a piece of osnaburg and stitched it into place.  It's such a great way to freshen up these useful old carts.  I personally use one as a laundry basket.

She also took this fabulous, but newer, basket and gave it a great vintage feel by adding upholstery webbing and a stenciled number.  Adding a number to anything automatically gives a piece a vintage look.

Not only was she sewing, stenciling and thinking of creative ways to sell our wares, but she was also stripping and refinishing an old wicker table I had found at a garage sale.  This little table had a terrible white top with some sun's stenciled on it. Mom of course new right away what to do.  It looks great!
